Our General Legal Process and Powers and Duties 2012 course is an overview/refresher course for experienced practitioners. The curriculum reviews key parts of the Building Code Act and Volume 1 of the 2012 Building Code Compendium as well as the provisions of Parts 10 and 11 of the Ontario Building Code (OBC).
Prerequisites
You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.
Note(s)
This course can help you prepare to write the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) General Legal/Process 2012, Powers and Duties of CBO 2012, Powers and Duties of RCA 2012, and Designer Legal/Process 2012 exams (not included). The MMAH exams are administered by Humber College. For more information, visit the Ontario Building Code Examinations website.

Teacher-led Online
The course sections (CRNs) use continuous intake registration. That means they do not have traditional start/end dates. You can register at any time (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) during the date range shown. However, you will have restrictions on how long you take to complete the course, so be sure to check the total course hours to ensure you are registering early enough to complete the course by that date. Also keep in mind that you will receive your online access/course materials approximately a week after you register.
Teacher-led online classes use a learning management system (LMS) and videoconferencing software (which may require a camera and a microphone). A welcome letter with details about the LMS will be emailed to you.
