Our Accessibility Training: Beyond the Building Code course was developed in response to the 2019 legislative review of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. Designed for both building officials and design professionals, this building accessibility course is intended to help you broaden your understanding of the challenges faced by people with disabilities and how to ensure healthy and safe environments (not only in buildings but in all spaces). Go beyond the basic technical “barrier free” design requirements found in the Ontario Building Code regulations by focusing on the rationale behind both the regulations and accessible design.

Prerequisites

You must have a general understanding of the Ontario Building Code.
