This course is designed for internationally educated nurses (IENs) completing the Nursing for IEN: Competency Upgrade Pathway.
OntarioLearn description: In this course, you will explore the concepts of health in Canada, with a focus on the impact of health transitions on various stakeholders in different circumstances and contexts. Transitions in health occur often during the life span of individuals, families, groups, and communities. Healthcare transitions involve assessing, planning, and coordinating effective continuity of care to clients who experience a change in health status, transfer providers and locations, or require support managing ongoing health needs. Using a strength-based, health promotion lens, you will learn to support and advocate for their clients during their health and wellness journey.
Prerequisites
You must be an IEN, be a resident of Ontario, and have a letter from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) containing the results of your educational assessment and outlining the additional education you need in order to become registered in Ontario as a general class RN.
