Our Parts 10 to 11 Building Renovation and Change of Use 2012 course is a detailed technical course. This building code course examines Parts 10 and 11 of the Ontario Building Code. The curriculum helps you become familiar with the intent and interpretation of Code regulations governing renovations and change of use. Part 10 establishes regulations for the change in use of an existing building where no construction activity is proposed. Part 11 provides a practical, flexible approach to renovation and ensures that life safety systems and building performance are maintained during the conversion and re-use of existing buildings. This course will be of interest to those who require knowledge of Parts 10 and 11 of the Code, including building officials, plans examiners, inspectors, architects, engineers, designers, renovators, and fire safety personnel.
Prerequisites
You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.
