Our Provisioning SQL Databases: 765 course teaches you how to install and configure a SQL 2016 database server as well as how to upgrade older SQL servers to the 2016 version. Learn how to deploy a SQL server with Microsoft Azure, how to manage a server within a virtualized environment, and how to manipulate and move SQL server files in order to move databases from one partition or server to another. Practice setting up and configuring SQL server maintenance, and learn how to perform ongoing maintenance to secure and protect data.

Prerequisites

You must have completed our COMP 9693 Administering SQL Databases: 764 course. (An approved equivalent is also acceptable.)

Course Essentials:

You must have Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Express Edition (which can be downloaded for free from Microsoft). This software requires a computer with 2 GHz (or greater) processor, 8 GB (or greater) RAM, and a Microsoft Windows 8 (or higher) 64-bit operating system. (You can complete this course using a 32-bit operating system but, if you wish to move on from this course, you will need a 64-bit operating system.)
