Our Fire Protection 2012 course is an overview/refresher course for experienced practitioners. This building code course helps you understand the Ontario Building Code (OBC) requirements that are applicable to fire protection. In addition to an overview of all fire protection requirements contained within the OBC, the curriculum focuses on Division B Parts 1, 3, 6, 9, and 11 of the OBC as well as Supplementary Standards SB-2, SB-3, and SB-4.

This course is intended mainly for inspectors whose duties relate to plans, reviews, or inspections regarding fire suppression, fire detection firefighting, and fire safety or for fire chiefs who have been appointed as inspectors under Division C Sentence 1.3.4.1.(1) of the OBC.

Prerequisites

You must have a general understanding of the building construction process and basic blueprint reading skills.

Note(s)

This course can help you prepare to write the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) Fire Protection 2012 exam (not included). The MMAH exam is administered by Humber College. For more information, visit the Ontario Building Code Examinations website.
