Our Taxation course introduces you to the basics of the Canadian income tax system as set out in the Income Tax Act and income tax interpretation bulletins. Focus on the calculation of income for individuals from employment, business, property, and capital gains (including capital cost allowance). Learn to complete the calculation of taxable income by studying income from other sources, other deductions, and loss carryovers, and learn to complete the calculation of an individual’s taxes payable by studying refundable and non-refundable tax credits. Finally, complete this study of income taxation by focusing on non-arm's length transfers, income attribution rules, and the income tax implications associated with various tax-deferred retirement savings plans.
